Cycle tour day 21
En Cycle TourMillion dollar view
creation date: 2026-07-27 20:50:23 UTC, last edit: 2026-07-27 20:50:23 UTCIt’s wired to think we have been out here for three weeks now. We left late today, dad and Daniel wanted to go on a walk around the highlands.
Once we got back in the main road we saw a patch of snow on a hillside. Never underestimate Norway. It took us maybe an hour to get there and back. An hour of mud and marsh and very slippery rocks. It was worth it to touch some real snow though. It’s amazing that in a few small patches snow can exist here all year round.
Cars in Norway are not to be messed with. While most are alright, I have today alone had several instances of people close passing me what felt like less then a meter away.
We are camping tonight in the same place that Darren Alff from Bicycle Touring Pro did almost ten years ago. My dad spent a while looking for this spot when he first saw Darren’s video. I don’t think he realised at the time that we would be camping there ourselves in a few years. Darren called the view a ‘million dollar view’. Sans the thriving mosquito population, I can’t agree more.
