Cycle tour day 18

Norway is hands down the most incredible place I have ever been. Also I hate mosquitoes.

We started off in a field in a kind of marshy area. The mosquitoes were terrible. It never ended! They would just keep coming and coming. I had to wear full rain gear to avoid getting bitten and still a few got through. Setting off was amazing, finally free of the bloody things.

We stopped at a cafe after about ten kilometres. There was a reindeer just walking around outside. They look like deer but with so much more fuzzy then feels like should be possible. While I was eating my sandwich and waffle it came up to the window and peered in.

We spent most of the day cycling through rain, which was alright, except for the fact that my rain trousers kept tearing themselves on the cog next to my pedals. Thankfully, it wasn’t raining too hard, more of a light shower.

Near to the end of our day we came to a decent, I think the longest of our trip so far. We started at the top of a gorgeous valley. It was coated in a rich green forest and dark jagged rocks. At the bottom of the valley was a river rushing incredibly quickly, getting ever faster thanks to the rain.

The ten kilometres decent brought us winding down through the valley, between the rocks and trees, right down next to the rapid water. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I am nowhere near good enough as a writer to describe how it truly felt to be there.
